I just got back from an in-service and then PD hours, so I am a little warped. But, decided to check my blog for comments, and my spirits were lifted when I saw I got a comment from my oldest, dearest, and best friend, Julie. So, thank you. So, there was something interesting I learned today. Of course, the exception is our own children, because we spend the time with them already. If you want to make a personal connection you need to follow the 2 X 10 rule. Spend 2 minutes a day for 10 days with a child just talking. I have seen a lot of children whose parents have not been able to spend time with them, due to many reasons, and perhaps you see those children. I encourage you to reach out to them.

On the home front- Jason passed his hazmat test today. So, he can now drive a propane truck. (Watch out everyone! Ha!) We laugh that our lives are becoming "King of the Hill" like. At least it is not turning into a soap opera! Jason had to take care of the kids this afternoon, so when I got home I found McDonald's on the table! I chuckled to myself because we went there last night when Jason was at work. No complaints from the girls though! I am thinking about putting Sarah into dance. Last night, Dancing with the Stars were on, and Sarah was trying to imitate the moves she saw on the TV. So, who knows? She was as graceful as a 4 year old could be!

Monday, Monday

Hello Everyone,

Typical Monday. Sarah has just ended a 30 minute screaming fit. She was sure that there was something in her eye. Even after checking it and reassuring her, she was determined that there was something in there. Ah, the joys of a tired child! Samantha enjoyed her after-school Spanish class today. They workded on their colors. Penny has been going with her, so I think it makes it extra special. On Tuesdays, she goes to Cook and Book class. She enjoys that one as well. Last week they made a ladybug cake to go with the book the Grouchy Ladybug. Of course, I ate more of it than she did. She is a little nervous about school ending, because she has to change schools. She asked me if the first grade teachers at my school were mean. I told her no, if you listen. Aren't all teachers like that? She is talking about going to the zoo in NYC and something about the ferry. Sarah says she is going to the zoo as well, but Samantha sternly tells her that she will have to wait until she is 6. Samantha is good at telling Sarah she has to wait. Love those big sisters! (Smile, Alison!) Overall, a pretty good day. Hope all is well and God Bless you.

Our First Blog

Hello Everyone-
This is my first attempt at a blog, so we will see what happens. Jason has started a new job at Santie Oil. He just completed his first week. I am still teaching third grade. The girls are growing up fast. Samantha will have completed her first soceer season on Saturday. She was on the Rams. Sarah will finish her first year of ECE. Meanwhile, Samantha is getting ready to take her 6 year old trip to see her Uncle Bill in New York with Grandma Penny. I've never been so it will be interesting to see what she thinks. She is excited about the trains they will have to ride from the airport to his place. Good luck Uncle Bill and Grandma! We had a great Easter in Farmington visiting family. My sister's kids are wonderful (but what nephew and niece aren't?). My mom got to come in as well, so we almost had the whole Dickerson crew there. Well, I am going to sign off and try to save some stuff for later.
