Well, well! Hello world! Yes, Samantha did enjoy her trip to New York and Chicago! I can not begin to tell you the amount of stories, pictures, and what-nots that we have heard about or seen. She is a very lucky girl. The big cities haven't seemed to phased her. I was very impressed with her uncle. As she tells it, Uncle Bill and she skipped down a street in New York. Who knew Bill could even skip? Over all, she went to Times Square, M&M World, Central Park, on a ferry by the Statue of Liberty, she walked by where they filmed the David Letterman show. She got to see where her Uncle Bill worked. She also went to the Brooklyn Zoo. She picked up Poley, a stuffed polar bear. Know she is working on the scrapbook to put all of her New York and Chicago times together. Let's see other news: Samantha and I went to the Muny with Alison and Cal. That was fun, I think Alison and I enjoyed the play more. The kids enjoyed their fans that shot water at them. I don't think the people around us enjoyed the fans as much! We have gotten to see Grandma DeDe a few times. She is teaching a class full of first graders. God Bless Her! She is keeping busy, very busy. We didn't get to go see her at Farmington on the 4th due to the fact that I wasn't feeling well. The kids went to see the fireworks with Jason here in Sikeston. Sarah did not care for the sounds, they reminded her of the trees falling during the ice storm. She thought they were falling again. It's funny what kids remember. Interesting, how that popped up. She hasn't even mentioned the ice storm until the fireworks. Jason is job hunting. No more King of the Hill. He is out everyday filling out apps or collecting them. Well, I will let you all go. I promise to post sooner next time! Until then, God Bless.

Hello Everyone-
Sorry it has been so long since I wrote last. It has been a very interesting time here. I will just start off with the big news. Samantha has a cast on her right arm. She fell off the toddler slide and cracked her humerus (sp?) bone. She has been a real trooper though. I have been very impressed with her and how she is handling the situation. She picked green teddy bears holding blue and red balloons. Sadly, though, they don't look like teddy bears. Everyone thinks that they are flowers. She is still headed to Chicago and New York. She is VERY excited. That is all she talks about. And, I mean all. I also believe that a break will be good for her and Sarah. They are getting on each other's nerves. Each one is pestering the other, but little do they now, they are both pestering me! Ha! Other news- school is out. I am very happy about that. I plan on painting a few rooms. I would like to do my kitchen in Coca-Cola, but I am still trying to lay out that plan. My plan is to paint Sam's room while she is gone. I will probably do one accent wall red, and the rest a pale gray. Mom got her some team things that are red and black. Go Bulldogs! I almost have decided to paint J's and my room yellow. But, haven't affirmed that choice yet. Well, I better go. Laundry calls. Laundry is like bill collectors, it never stops! Never! I hope all of you have a blessed Memorial Day. To all of the soliders out there, thank you for doing what you do. To all those who have lost loved ones who were protecting this country, thank you for sacrificing such an important part of your life. I will pray for you all. God Bless You.

Hello Everybody-
I am going crazy!!!! School needs to be out soon!!! Can I get an Amen? Other than that, things are going great. Mom has been in town since Tuesday, and boy, we have been keeping her busy! On Tuesday, we came home, cooked, visited, the girls talked her ear off, etc. Then Wednesday, Mom spent all day with Sarah (they went to quite a few places), we then went to 2 T-ball practices, ran to McDonald's for dinner, and then came home. Today, Mom graciously accompanied Samantha's class (kindergarten) on a field trip to the Nature Center and park. Mom was in charge of 4 hooligans, her own grandchild include in that mix. Mom says they walked for 30 minutes and played for an hour. They also got to see a show on turtles and amphibians. I have to say that I am impressed. The lady has stamina! She and the girls are now fast asleep. I wonder why? Jason and I watched the season finale of Smallville. It's funny how you pick up things that you wouldn't do unless you are close with someone. I used to roll my eyes when ever dad watched Superman, but now I watch Smallville even when Jason isn't around. Go figure. All am I going to say is that it is good drama! Well, for those of you who know Bob, he was put to sleep. Bob is my parents' dog. I believe he has been around for 14 or so years. He had congestive heart failure. He was an awesome dog! I can remember how he used to not be so sure about the girls, but when he realized that they drop food on the floor regularly he grew to love them! Well, I am exhausted and ready for sleep. Just wanted to say hi and hope all is well! God Bless You!

Hello Everyone-
I am trusting that everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! I did. My sister, Cal, and Anne Marie were able to come down. I have the cutest nephew and niece. We went to church (a sure way to get the day going well), and then we went to Penny and Dad's for some delicious steak. I recieved an awesome picture with a cute picture frame that reads, "The friendship between a mother and a child is one of life's sweetest gifts." Inside is Sarah grinning. Thank you to Tammy, Vicki, and Granny at daycare for taking the picture and getting the frame. Samantha brought me breakfast in bed. It was toast with jelly, and butter put on last (as a final thought!). She also had made me some handmade flowers from school. Being a mother is a lot different than what I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it isn't bad or anything like that, just different. Meanwhile, I am fighting a sinus infection! Yeah! So, my head is in a cloud. I have gone through 2 rolls of rough school tissue today. If you haven't experienced school tissue, let me just tell you it "ain't" pretty. Jason wants me to inform you all that he has quit smoking for at least 2 months. He just quit cold turkey. I am very impressed! My mom is coming in town tomorrow. We have to buy a new mattress for a bed frame we just got. Hopefully, we can get is tomorrow so she won't have to be on the couch. The girls really enjoy when Grandma DeDe comes into town. Samantha loves how she gets to go to the Dollar Tree! We enjoy her company. Wish she could move closer, but she has a lot going on in Kansas City. Well, I need to go and get the kids ready for bed! So, to all, I hope you have a great evening.

Final Countdown
Well. what can I say? 9 more days! Of school that is! What a year! Sarah and Samantha have both started T-ball practice. All I can say is- Very Interesting! The girls are arguing over poptarts. Excuse me for a minute! ............Okay, I am back. Who knew poptarts were so important? Back to T-ball. Neither girl is, say, interested in getting the ball. Samantha is still in the picking flowers from soccer season. Sarah wants to keep her batting helmet on, even in the outfield. Sunday is Mother's Day. So, to all of you mothers, have a great day! You have earned it. Well, I need to go and will hopefully post more later! (If anyone is reading-ha!)

I just got back from an in-service and then PD hours, so I am a little warped. But, decided to check my blog for comments, and my spirits were lifted when I saw I got a comment from my oldest, dearest, and best friend, Julie. So, thank you. So, there was something interesting I learned today. Of course, the exception is our own children, because we spend the time with them already. If you want to make a personal connection you need to follow the 2 X 10 rule. Spend 2 minutes a day for 10 days with a child just talking. I have seen a lot of children whose parents have not been able to spend time with them, due to many reasons, and perhaps you see those children. I encourage you to reach out to them.
On the home front- Jason passed his hazmat test today. So, he can now drive a propane truck. (Watch out everyone! Ha!) We laugh that our lives are becoming "King of the Hill" like. At least it is not turning into a soap opera! Jason had to take care of the kids this afternoon, so when I got home I found McDonald's on the table! I chuckled to myself because we went there last night when Jason was at work. No complaints from the girls though! I am thinking about putting Sarah into dance. Last night, Dancing with the Stars were on, and Sarah was trying to imitate the moves she saw on the TV. So, who knows? She was as graceful as a 4 year old could be!

Monday, Monday
Hello Everyone,
Typical Monday. Sarah has just ended a 30 minute screaming fit. She was sure that there was something in her eye. Even after checking it and reassuring her, she was determined that there was something in there. Ah, the joys of a tired child! Samantha enjoyed her after-school Spanish class today. They workded on their colors. Penny has been going with her, so I think it makes it extra special. On Tuesdays, she goes to Cook and Book class. She enjoys that one as well. Last week they made a ladybug cake to go with the book the Grouchy Ladybug. Of course, I ate more of it than she did. She is a little nervous about school ending, because she has to change schools. She asked me if the first grade teachers at my school were mean. I told her no, if you listen. Aren't all teachers like that? She is talking about going to the zoo in NYC and something about the ferry. Sarah says she is going to the zoo as well, but Samantha sternly tells her that she will have to wait until she is 6. Samantha is good at telling Sarah she has to wait. Love those big sisters! (Smile, Alison!) Overall, a pretty good day. Hope all is well and God Bless you.

Our First Blog
Hello Everyone-
This is my first attempt at a blog, so we will see what happens. Jason has started a new job at Santie Oil. He just completed his first week. I am still teaching third grade. The girls are growing up fast. Samantha will have completed her first soceer season on Saturday. She was on the Rams. Sarah will finish her first year of ECE. Meanwhile, Samantha is getting ready to take her 6 year old trip to see her Uncle Bill in New York with Grandma Penny. I've never been so it will be interesting to see what she thinks. She is excited about the trains they will have to ride from the airport to his place. Good luck Uncle Bill and Grandma! We had a great Easter in Farmington visiting family. My sister's kids are wonderful (but what nephew and niece aren't?). My mom got to come in as well, so we almost had the whole Dickerson crew there. Well, I am going to sign off and try to save some stuff for later.
